My 86^th race of 2018 was the Reindeer 5K held on Dec 8^th at Northeast Baptist Hospital in San Antonio.  This was the inaugural event for the 5K which supported local Reagan High School Spirit Team.   There was also a Winter Fest  holiday event – kind of a fair – with booths, food, music, items for sale by vendors, etc.  All the runners, with their entry, got a wristband for entry into the fair.   Please feel free to save/share my event report and photos located at the links below.

My 85^th race of 2018 was held on Dec 2^nd – the San Antonio Rock n Roll Half Marathon 2-Person Relay.  I did the 1^st leg and my wife Gail did the 2^nd leg. Event was held in downtown San Antonio area, with the start near The Alamo  and the finish on Alamo Street in front of Hemisfair Park and Tower of the Americas.  Please feel free to share/save my event report and photos located at the links below:

My 84th race of 2018 was the San Antonio Rock n Roll 5K on Dec 1^st.  There was also a 10K.  These events were part of the San Antonio Rock n Roll races held in San Antonio on Dec 1 – Dec 2, with the half-marathon and full marathon held on Dec 2. My 83^rd race of 2018 was the B.I.S.H. Foundation Santa Antonio 5K, the original Santa Claus 5K in San Antonio, held for many years.  This event was held on Nov 25 and helps fund cancer research.  Race local was Sunset Station in downtown San Antonio, near The Alamodome, which was the previous home of the NBA San Antonio Spurs and is a current venue for various athletic events, conventions, shows, etc.  Please feel free to save/share my event report-and-photos at the links below.

My 82^nd race of 2018 was Fredericksburg Turkey Trot held on Nov 24 in Fredericksburg, TX, about 90 miles from San Antonio.  This was more like ‘burn off the turkey’, lol, since it was a couple days after Thanksgiving.  The event included a 5K, a 10K and a 1-mile fun run.  There were 77 finishers for the 5K and 251 finishers for the 5K.  This event supported MOM Center, a nonprofit women’s resource center specializing in parenting education and adoption advocacy.  Please feel free to save/share my report and photos located at the links below.

My 81st race of 2018 was the Comal Cops for Kids Turkey Trot 5K held on Thanksgiving Day. Race location was historic Gruene (pronounced green) Texas, about a 35 miles from San Antonio. This event raised funds for the Comal County Police Department’s Blue Santa program for kids in need. This was the 10th anniversary of the event. My 80^th race of 2018 was Unified in Wellness 5K held on Nov 18 at University of Incarnate Word (UIW) in San Antonio.  This event is a fundraiser for the university food pantry and promotes wellness: physical, emotional, social, spiritual, occupational, environmental, and intellectual health.

My 79th race of 2018 was the Boerne Family YMCA Thanksgiving 5K held on Nov 17 at the town center in Boerne, Texas, about a 40-minute drive from where I live in San Antonio. There was also a 10K and a 1-mile walk. 1-mile walk started first, as it was on a trail that went along the river. 10K and 5K were done on local roads, with the 10K starting at 8:05 a.m. and the 5K starting at 8:10 a.m. Please feel free to share/save my event report and photos located at the links below.

My 78^th race of 2018 was the Endurathon 5K on Nov 11.  Put on by the San Antonio Roadrunners, the largest and oldest running club in San Antonio, the main races for this event are the 30K and the 15K.  I think the 30K and 15K also had a 2-person relay option too, if I remember correctly.  The 5K was added this year, which was nice, so old fogies like me who can’t run distance anymore can participate too.

My 77^th race of 2018 was Battle of Leon Creek 5K.  Part of the Alamo Beer series of races, this is the last race of the year  of a series of races put on by local race company Scallywompus, and sponsored by local brewery Alamo Beer, that helps participants train for the upcoming San Antonio Rock n Roll Marathon and Half Marathon.  The main events of this race were the 20-miler and the 10-miler, with the 20-miler starting at 7:30 am., the 10-miler at 8:15 a.m. and the 5K at 9 a.m.  There were also several inspiring disabled participants who participated too.  The disabled athletes also started at 7:30.  Race location was near University of Texas at San Antonio at some apartments right down from one of the university parking lots and adjacent to the Leon Creek off-road greenway paved trail.
